About Us

Our Story Starts With Family

BPAC was built on love, purpose, and a deep belief that every person on the autism spectrum deserves a community that shows up for them.

THE MEANING BEHIND THE NAME

More Than an Acronym

The name BPAC carries two layers of meaning. "Building" reflects the Duncan and Hines family's deep roots in the construction world but more importantly, it speaks to their mission of building up people, families, and communities.

The letters P, A, and C represent something even closer to home: the initials of Cortney and Ashley’s triplets, lovingly referred to by family and friends as “The PAC.”

Their story and the shared experiences of family members on the spectrum, became the inspiration behind the autism golf tournament and, ultimately, the creation of the nonprofit.

Every event, every dollar raised, and every connection made is done with them and every family like theirs in mind.

Our Mission

BPAC's mission is to enrich the lives of those on the autism spectrum through fundraising, advocacy, and community engagement.

Our Vision

BPAC is committed to making a real and lasting difference in the lives of those with autism. Our vision is to create a more supportive, inclusive world where individuals on the spectrum are valued, respected, and given the opportunity to thrive in all aspects of life.

Our Values

We are driven by three core values:

COMPASSION

We show up with empathy and care for individuals with autism and the families, caregivers, and allies who support them.

INCLUSION

We believe every person deserves to be seen, valued, and celebrated for exactly who they are.

COMMUNITY

We don’t do this alone. Real change happens when neighbors, businesses, and organizations come together toward a shared purpose.

BOARD MEMBERS

THE PEOPLE BEHIND BPAC

Ashley Duncan

President Ashley co-founded BPAC alongside her husband, Cortney with a commitment to making a difference in the autism community in honor of their family members on the spectrum. Her passion for advocacy and connection is the driving force behind everything BPAC does. Ashley received a BA in Psychology from NC State University with concentrations in Sociology and Family & Child Counseling. She worked for the NCSU Center for Family and Community Engagement and also currently manages CADCO (Cortney & Ashley Duncan Co.) Construction's community relations and marketing. Deeply committed to helping others in meaningful ways, she also serves on various local boards. Ashley & Cortney live in Cary with their triplets (2 sons and 1 daughter).

Cortney Duncan

Vice President Cortney brings the same commitment to people that he brings to every project through CADCO Construction. Building something that lasts, that matters, and that makes a real difference. He received his BS in Construction Technology with a Minor in Business from Appalachian State University. After working in various fields of construction, he started CADCO where he serves as President and General Contractor. He has found great fulfillment in contributing and giving back to the community he grew up in - through his business, at BPAC, and in coaching high school football. He was honored to be named one of Cary Magazine's Movers and Shakers for his work in business and in the community. His most important job continues to be Dad to his and Ashley's triplets.

Josh Hines

Treasurer Josh joined BPAC as a founding board member with a shared desire to expand the organization's impact and ensure every dollar raised goes where it matters most. He serves not only as a partner in BPAC, but also in CADCO, where he serves as Vice President. Josh graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a BS in Economics. He is a licensed NC General Contractor and holds a NC Real Estate Brokers License. With a personal connection to autism, Josh looks forward to continuing to support BPAC's mission to enrich the lives of those on the autism spectrum - all in honor of his son, who he raises in Cary alongside his wife Jenny.

Casey Zarian

Casey is a valued member of the BPAC Board, bringing not only an extensive background in serving her community, but also a passion for making a difference for those on the spectrum in honor of her daughter with severe nonverbal autism. Casey received her BA in Psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill followed by a BSN in Nursing from UNC-Charlotte. After years of working in the NICU, she completed her Master’s in Nursing with a Pediatric Primary Care focus from Vanderbilt University. Casey lives in Cary with her husband and 3 children, and in addition to her work on the BPAC Board, also serves as Social Media Coordinator for the CADCO Autism Awareness Golf Tournament.

Sean Godwin

Sean joined the BPAC board with years of experience serving the disabled community. His expertise is vital in helping BPAC achieve its long-term goals. He received his BS in Business Administration from East Carolina University, and worked in the financial services profession for several years before joining Capitol Financial Solutions as a Financial Advisor. Sean has committed his practice to assisting families of those with disabilities so they may lead a richer, fuller, more secure life. He earned the designation of Chartered Special Needs Consultant from the American College, and has served on various boards supporting individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Sean and his family live in Raleigh.
